Once I asked my brilliant psychotherapist friend if she'd be there to help me if I ever lost my mind.
"Are you sure you'd want the one back that you lost?" she answered.

Go to Zen Sushi!

I am waxing romantic over my favorite away-from-home place to eat sushi: Zen Sushi in Sacramento. I figure if I post this it might make a tiny difference for them in a sea of links and clicks and so forth.

I always come here when I'm looking at microfilm in Sacramento. I discovered it when I was staying at a Quality Inn right across the street, which has since become more popular and harder to get into, plus my heart has been stolen by a number of other places that are farther away, less expensive and have spas... anyway, this place is cooly lit with soft blue neon, like an oxygen or light bar or something. We just don't have any of those in Medford, Oregon, so it's a novelty to me. The sushi has dynamic names, such as "Godzilla," "Dynamite," and "City Sushi." Each one is a visual work of art, and most likely to cause an oral orgasm. I've tried a number of them, mostly after a long day of staring at microfilm at the state library. I show up like a slightly eccentric middle-aged lady and they always treat me as if I were royalty. Honestly, if you know anything about me you'll understand that I spent a majority of my adult years as a single person and still very much need my "hermit time," where I go somewhere and assimilate great quantities of information by myself. The staff at Zen Sushi seem to understand this on a molecular level, and serve me the most excellent Japanese food I have ever had.
"How was everything?" my server asked tonight.
"It was like being in a dream," I answered."
Be sure to try the Wasabi Bloody Mary.
